Read the interview made by Thrill International to Mattia, where you will find effective indications and suggestions for enjoying excellent cocktails at home too.

  • Hi Mattia, what are your impressions on the period we are going through?

The hospitality and events sector are going through a moment full of challenges. Those who prove quick to absorb change and make the new customer experience pleasant, exclusive and safe as possible will become winners, thanks to the opportunities offered by technology.  These solutions are available to offer increasingly refined and personalized service and put hospitality first. As we have seen, the current situation has given rise to increased delivery service which has also included cocktails.   This has placed even greater emphasis on the specialized beverage services that offer ready-to-drink cocktails or boxes to finish at home in a few steps. Even the world of events experiences a digital season with specialized agencies that deal with creating experiences to be relived directly at home by sending everything you need to make successful parties: from cocktails to finger food, as well as personalized playlists and a mixologist connected live following guests with a step by step completion of the drink. We with NONSOLOCOCKTAILS are collaborating with several agencies in Milan to create an original experience, tailored for easy carry out.

  • Mattia, do you think it is feasible to set up a Mixology corner in your own home? Give us some advice on how to best prepare.

Preparing a mixology corner for an evening with friends is possible in every home, just a few simple precautions and basic ingredients.i.

1. Never without ice

Without ice, there is no cocktail. So it is essential to prepare stocks for the evening and to have quality ice.   We recommend choosing silicone molds larger than 3 cm x 3 cm for the creation of a maxi ice-cube.

2. The professional's equipment

To make a good cocktail you need the tools of the trade: shaker, mixing glass, bar spoon and strainer are the 4 basic tools for mixing drinks and obtaining a professional bartender result.

3. Cocktail recipe book

Having a recipe book on hand can be useful to perfectly perform the great classics or to find inspiration on new twists. Among the bibles of the beverage world are the Difford's Guide and Cocktail Safari written by Stefano Nincevich, with over 70 cocktails in a single volume and popular among stories, anecdotes and legends.

4. The spirits of the evening and supporting ingredients

Gin, tequila, rum, whiskey, vermouth and bitters. Having one or more bottles of your favorite spirit is essential to light up the evening and have the basis for making different drinks. In addition to these, citrus fruits are also essential, both as an ingredient and as a garnish.  The same applies to sugar or other sweeteners such as honey, aromatic herbs (basil, mint and rosemary) and spices can be used for the final decorations. Basari then the tonic and the ginger beer to create two classics such as Gin Tonic and Moscow Mule.

Then you just need to turn on your imagination and a desire to have fun and experiment.

5. Always cold glasses

It is important that the glass is always cold, to keep the serving temperature of the cocktail suitable for maintaining a longer and better taste. The cold has a great impact on the sense of taste.

  • Mattia, why did you choose Thrill International as your working partner and why do you recommend his machines as effective tools to be used also at home?

In an evolving world, we bartenders too must make evolve. It is no longer just important to make excellent cocktails but as mentioned above, to take care of every single detail of the service. This includes the perfect ice, a well chilled glass and all the selected ingredient. In this period that we are experiencing, another important factor is hygiene, our modern guest certainly pay attention to the cleanliness of their surroundings. Thrill manages to cover two fundamental pillars, the cooling of the glass but also sanitization. If we can convey this message to our guests, we can create added value to our service. Another fundamental thing is the experience and the story and a quality product like those produced by Thrill International certainly becomes important in involving the of the senses.

At home it becomes a unique, special, distinctive element, to be able to taste products at the right temperature and ensure that the temperature is maintained longer, as well as sanitizing the glass and thus also limiting the presence of unpleasant odors, a situation that at home it often develops when using glasses for special occasions and which therefore remain still for a while.
